VENICE 261BL is a classic wall lantern in its flush half-lantern form – the back is flat, so the fitting sits against the wall and projects only 13 cm from it. The six-sided cast aluminium body, powder-coated in RAL 9005 black, is capped by a pointed roof, and the sides are filled with clear panes through which the bulb is visible. The character of the light This is an exposed-lamp fitting: there is no diffuser to soften the output, so the bulb shines through clear panes in every direction and casts the lantern's frame pattern onto the wall. Bulb choice matters more here than in a fitting with a frosted shade – a decorative LED filament lamp underlines the lantern's classic character, while a plain opal globe gives calmer, more even light. Light source The E27 lampholder takes a replaceable LED bulb of up to 9 W; no bulb is included. Norlys names the Osram LED Parathom Classic E27 and the Philips Master LEDbulb Classic E27 among its recommendations. Supply is ~220–240 V and the fitting is class II, so no protective earth is required. Durability IP54 protects against dust and splashing water from any direction. The operating range is -20°C to +45°C, so it works through frosty nights. The lens is UV-stabilised polycarbonate – it does not yellow in sunlight the way ordinary plastic does – and the cable entry is sealed with an EPDM gland. Installation The lantern is fixed with two screws through ø4.5 mm holes spaced 90 mm apart. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the entry is designed for a round insulated cable of ø7–10.5 mm – worth checking against the cable already left in your wall. Service and variants Norlys sells the lampshade as a spare part (code 06261002), so a cracked or clouded pane does not mean replacing the whole fitting – a rare and practical touch in this class of lantern.
