AGUILA is a shallow, slightly flared shade 35 cm across in matt black, hung on a fine cable from a round canopy. A slim rod passes through the centre of the shade and protrudes a few centimetres below its lower rim — the only decorative element in an otherwise entirely geometric form. An acrylic diffuser closes the shade underneath.The whole body is the light source AGUILA has no socket and no bulb. The manufacturer specifies the source as an integrated LED: a 32 W diode module built in permanently and supplied with the fitting. That choice cuts both ways. On one hand the shade can be this shallow, because it does not have to house a bulb envelope, and the light spreads evenly across the whole diffuser with no bright spot in the middle. On the other, when the diodes reach the end of their life you replace the whole luminaire, not the lamp. Better to know that before buying than years afterwards.2066 lumens aimed strictly downward The shade is opaque above and at the sides, so the entire 2066 lm goes down. Over a dining table 80–90 cm wide, that is amply enough as the main light for a meal. Over a large living room it is not: nothing bounces off the ceiling, so the space beyond the circle under the lamp stays dark and needs a second, diffuse source. That is not a design flaw but the consequence of a choice — AGUILA is a zonal light, not a general one.65 lm/W — and where it goes 32 W yielding 2066 lm is roughly 65 lm/W, clearly below the 130–150 lm/W of technical fittings. The acrylic diffuser absorbs the difference, turning the point light of the diodes into a single soft plane. You pay in efficiency and are repaid in freedom from glare — on a pendant hanging at the eye level of a seated person, that is a good trade.TRIAC dimming The manufacturer confirms TRIAC dimming — an ordinary leading-edge dimmer fitted in the back box in place of the switch. No separate controller, bus or remote is needed. At 3000 K, dimming gives a markedly warmer mood in the evening, while full output gives usable light for working at the table.Build and installation The construction combines steel, aluminium and acrylic. The black is matt and deep, with no sheen, so the shade reads as a silhouette rather than as a mirror reflecting the window. Total suspension height is 145 cm measured from the ceiling.
