BASIS TR030-2-24W3K-B is a linear light module for the Maytoni Exility 23 mm magnetic track system. It measures 60.4 cm long, 2.2 cm wide and 4.4 cm high, and the black aluminium profile is closed underneath by an opal diffuser running its whole length. What track it belongs on The module runs on 48 V and fits the 23 mm magnetic Exility system only. It cannot be put on a 230 V track — single-, two- or three-phase — either mechanically or electrically, so check which system is already on your ceiling before buying. The luminaire holds to the track magnetically and draws power from it, so it can be moved to another spot without tools. The track itself and the 48 V power supply are not included — they are separate parts of the system and have to be chosen separately. How much light it gives The module draws 24 W and gives 1440 lm. An old 60 W bulb gave around 800 lm, so a single 60 cm segment genuinely lights a room rather than just drawing a line on the ceiling. 3000 K is warm white, and Ra 90 means colours under this light look close to how they look in daylight — which counts over a worktop and in a shop, where the colour of the goods has to be right. The 120 degree beam spreads the light wide, so this is general light for a stretch of ceiling, not a spot accent. The diodes are built in permanently — 96 of them, with no bulb holder, so at the end of their life the whole module is replaced. The manufacturer states 50,000 h of service life. The luminaire is not dimmable, so no dimmer or controller can be added to it. Build and series The profile is aluminium in a black finish and the whole luminaire weighs 0.44 kg. The manufacturer gives a 5 year warranty. Basis is the Exility range of linear modules: alongside this version there are 12 W segments, a 4000 K variant and tunable 2700–6000 K versions driven by Dim Smart and DALI.
