The Mantra SAONA SUPERFICIE 6627 is a round surface-mounted LED ceiling light, 30 cm across and 4.2 cm deep. The body is aluminium finished in matt white, and the whole underside is an opal acrylic diffuser, so the fitting glows as an even disc with no visible points of light.Size and installationThe disc projects 4.2 cm from the ceiling — flat enough not to draw the eye in a room with a low ceiling — and the 30 cm diameter is about half the width of a typical dining table.Installation starts with a metal bracket screwed to the ceiling at two points 24.5 cm apart; compare that spacing with the existing plugs if the fitting is replacing an older one. The wires go into a terminal block and the body is then screwed onto the bracket from the side. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor.The light it givesIt puts out 2700 lm for 30 W of consumption — enough to serve as the main light of a room of a dozen or so square metres, not only as a supplement. The 4000 K colour temperature is neutral white without any yellow warmth, the kind of light that suits work and any task where something has to be seen precisely.Colour rendering is Ra 80, the usual level for utility lighting — adequate in a corridor, an entrance hall or a kitchen, weaker where colours have to match exactly. The LEDs come built in, so no bulb is bought separately; Mantra rates them at 30,000 hours and 30,000 on/off cycles, which matters on lighting that is switched many times a day.What the fitting does not doIt is not dimmable and Mantra offers no dimmer for it — it runs at full output or not at all, and wiring it to a wall dimmer will not give any control. It is for indoor use only, which the manufacturer states outright in the assembly instructions.The SAONA SUPERFICIE familyMantra builds the same fitting in round and square shapes, in 8, 14, 24 and 30 W, and at 3000 K and 4000 K.
