Rena 1632BL is a drive-over in-ground light with a square 13 × 13 cm front, made of cast aluminium powder-coated in black (RAL 9005). It is closed at the top — light leaves through four side slots in a satin, UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffuser.What it is for and where to install itNorlys describes it as an orientation light: it marks the edge of a driveway, path or terrace rather than lighting the whole surface. The BUG rating B0-U2-G0 confirms that it sends no light into the sky and keeps it low above the ground. Vehicles on pneumatic tyres may drive over the front, and the manufacturer gives a maximum load of 1000 kg. It should not be installed on traffic lanes where wheels brake, accelerate or turn — the horizontal forces from such manoeuvres are not what it is designed for.Installation and connectionThe body is 18.2 cm long, which is the depth you need to allow below the front. The light is screwed through three ø4.5 mm holes set at 120° on a ø100 mm circle, either to a box installed according to the instructions or to a suitably prepared hole in timber, so it also works in a decked terrace. Connection boxes 145ZX0009 and 146ZX0009 are sold separately.A 1 m H05BQ-F 3G1 cable leaves the light, terminated with a THB.391.R4A.L cable connector. The light is protection class I, so the installation needs an earth conductor. It weighs 1.2 kg.Light sourceThe light takes a GU10 PAR16 LED lamp of up to 6 W, which you can change yourself. Norlys also offers it ordered together with a Philips MASTER LED ExpertColor 5.5-50W GU10 930 36D lamp — dimmable, and the code 930 stands for 3000 K at Ra 90, a warm white that renders paving colours faithfully.Durability and serviceIP68 protection applies to immersion down to 1 m, so water standing over the front after a downpour is not a problem. IK10 is the highest impact rating on that scale, and the operating range is −20 to +45 °C. The gasket is silicone and the cable gland nickel-plated brass. When the diffuser wears, there is no need to break up the paving: Norlys sells it as service kit 06155010, along with gasket 08155000 and front 915500111.
