Newbrighton 1 Light Mini Bollard Brushed Brass E27 IP55 Elstead

Name: Newbrighton 1 Light Mini Bollard Brushed Brass E27 IP55 Elstead
Brand: Elstead Lighting

Newbrighton is a mini garden bollard in solid brass with a brushed finish. The body is a plain cylinder capped by a domed top, under which three brass rings on four vertical posts screen a polycarbonate lens. How tall it is and what it lights The bollard stands 25 cm tall and 10.2 cm across, so it throws light from below adult knee height — it lights the path surface itself and a narrow strip beside it, not the space around it. A longer walk is marked with several units spaced along it; one on its own marks a single point, such as a turn or the edge of a step. The rings under the cap screen the lens from above, so the light leaves sideways and downward and the lamp is not visible when you look down at the fitting. The luminaire weighs 1.45 kg. Which bulb to buy There is one socket with an E27 thread, and the maximum lamp wattage is 40 W. No bulb is supplied, so you choose brightness and colour yourself: around 400 lm gives accent light, about 800 lm matches the old 60 W bulb, and 2700–3000 K gives a warm, slightly yellow tone. The manufacturer states the fitting works with dimmable lamps. It carries no dimming electronics and no integrated LED of its own, so dimming needs a lamp described as dimmable plus a dimmer in the circuit. What it withstands outdoors An IP55 rating means protection against dust and against water jetted from any direction, so the bollard can stand in the garden with no cover over it. The lens is polycarbonate, which unlike glass does not shatter on impact — on a fitting that sits at mower height that matters. The manufacturer recommends this model particularly for coastal locations and backs it with a ten-year guarantee. Supply is 230 V from the mains and the fitting is Class I, so a protective earth conductor has to be run to it. How it looks Elstead calls the style transitional, between traditional and modern: the body is a plain cylinder, and the only ornament is the domed cap and the three rings beneath it. Brushed brass shows a directional grain across the surface and a matt, warm tone rather than a mirror shine. Away from a domestic garden, a bollard this low marks walkways and terrace edges in hotels and restaurants.Pokaż więcej
