The original brackets usually break at the base around the screws. The black flange on this bracket is made of sturdy die-cast aluminum. This sun visor bracket also differs from the cheaper version by its longer pin with a crimp tab. Therefore, the left and right brackets are not identical, unlike the plastic version.
