OVINCIA is a pendant lamp with a shade woven from natural rattan. The dome-shaped, hemispherical form is 65 cm across, closed at the top by a dense weave of fibres, while the lower edge is deliberately left raw – tufts of rattan reach freely past the outline of the shade at uneven lengths. That detail is what separates OVINCIA from smoothly woven shades: the lamp reads as a craft object rather than a factory blank. How it lights Rattan is not a solid material. Light from the bulb passes partly through the weave itself and partly between the fibres, so the fitting casts a diffuse, irregular pattern of shadows onto ceiling and walls – most visible after dark and with a warm colour temperature. The main output goes downwards, onto a tabletop or the floor. If that decorative effect is what you are after, choose a bulb with a clearly visible filament and a warm 2200–2700 K; if the lamp is mainly there to light the room, pick a higher-output source at 3000 K. Lamp and wattage The fitting has a single E27 lampholder, and the manufacturer caps the bulb at 12 W. That limit follows from the material: natural fibre does not tolerate high temperatures, so only cool-running LED lamps belong here – incandescent and halogen bulbs should not be fitted even though they physically screw in. No bulb is supplied. Dimming is possible, but only with a lamp marked as dimmable. Installation and dimensions The lamp hangs on a thin black cable emerging from a small, flat ceiling rose – both parts are deliberately minimal so as not to compete with the shade. Maximum drop is 185 cm, shortened to the length you need during installation; the shade itself is 40 cm tall at 65 cm across. Net weight is 1.65 kg. Supply is 230 V, and an IP20 rating restricts the lamp to dry interiors – natural rattan suits neither a bathroom nor an outdoor position. Which interior A 65 cm diameter is a size meant for over a table – the shade visually gathers the surface and marks out the dining zone. Material and ragged finish place OVINCIA in boho, rustic, Scandinavian and eclectic schemes; it sits well with linen, raw timber, ceramics and lime plaster. In a pale room the shade works as a warm textural accent, in a dark one as a glowing point.
