This is not a profile for LED tape. METRO is a mounting profile — a flat, silver-anodised aluminium bar with a 27 × 4.4 mm section that has no channel for tape, takes no cover and emits no light of its own. Its job is to hold and feed a lighting profile, not to replace one. Worth establishing before purchase, because in an "LED profiles" category it looks like one of them. What METRO is for METRO was created as part of the articulated system used with the LUMINES MICO, COSMO and SILEDA profiles. It plays two roles at once: It routes the supply cable. The cross-section shows two enclosed channels running the length of the bar — the cable hides inside them, so no visible wire runs to the fitting. It stiffens the structure and sets the angle. Combined with the hinges, METRO turns a suspension into a rigid arm that can swing the whole lighting assembly and aim the light where it is needed. The manufacturer describes it plainly as an alternative to conducting suspensions — to the cables that both hold a fitting and carry current to it. METRO solves the same problem rigidly instead of on wires. Dimensions, lengths and catalogue numbers This article is the 1.0 m version in silver anodised, catalogue number 10-0294-10. Anodising is not paint — the oxide layer forms within the aluminium itself, so it does not chip at cut edges and does not yellow from fixture heat. Installation and limits The manufacturer intends surface and suspended mounting. The profiles can be joined end to end, so a longer arm can be built from catalogue lengths. The shape is rectangular (a flat bar). Two limits are worth knowing: METRO is not sealable — IP20, i.e. dry interiors only, and it is not rated for traffic, so it must not be set into a floor where people walk or drive. LED tape, the lighting profile, the cover and the driver are all bought separately. It only makes sense with the LUMINES articulated system for MICO, COSMO or SILEDA profiles — outside it, it is simply an aluminium bar. A 4.4 mm section means a cable fits inside, not a driver. The driver has to go in the lighting profile or outside it. IP20 and not traffic-rated — dry interiors only, never set into a floor.
