TALIA M2 is a mounting profile for the surface-mounted TALIA LED profile – a 1 metre length in anodised silver, order code 10-0354-10. How a mounting profile differs from the main one A mounting profile does not light and does not carry the LED strip. Its job is to receive the TALIA profile and fix it to the substrate – and, along the way, to solve the problem that recurs most often in linear installations: where to put the driver. On the M2 version that is precisely the point – the manufacturer states outright that M2 exists to hide the main power component inside the profile. Instead of a box beside the fitting or a driver sitting above a suspended ceiling, the component lives in the same channel as the luminaire. The installation stays one element rather than a fitting plus hardware somewhere nearby. One of four – which to choose TALIA has four mounting profiles (M1–M4), differing in section and in what fits inside. M2 is the choice when the driver has to disappear into the profile. If the supply runs outside the fitting, a simpler variant will do – compare before ordering, because the mounting profiles are not interchangeable. The manufacturer permits both driver positions: inside the profile and outside it. M2 does not force one solution, it enables it. Surface and suspended mounting The TALIA + M2 combination mounts on the surface of a ceiling or wall, and also on suspensions. The beam direction is perpendicular to the profile – light goes straight down (or straight sideways on a wall), with no asymmetric tilt. The profile is linkable, so longer runs are built from metre lengths. The TALIA profile itself also comes in 2.02 m and 3 m, and to order up to 6 metres – on a long line, fewer joints means fewer visible junctions. Anodised silver – and what that means Anodising is not paint. The oxide layer is formed electrochemically in the aluminium itself, so it does not chip and does not rub through when the profile is dragged across a floor during installation. The surface stays matt-metallic, in a distinctly cooler tone than painted white. The same profile is available painted white (10-0351-10) and painted black (10-0795-10). The mounting profile's colour should match the main profile – on a surface installation the edge of both is visible. What it is assembled into Systems built on TALIA serve to make linear luminaires, decorative lighting and general lighting. The glare index is given as reduced or basic – depending on the cover used. The profile is not walk-over rated (not to be stepped or driven on) and is not sealable: the ingress protection of the whole assembly is IP20, so dry interiors only.
