The Astrid 2214AL is an 85 cm bollard light with a 14 × 14 cm cross-section, made from an extruded aluminium profile powder-coated in light grey (RAL 9006). The body has vertical fluting, and in the upper section the light comes out through the gaps between the ribs, behind which sits a milky PMMA diffuser. The fitting weighs 6.24 kg. How much light it gives The LED module and driver are built in, so there is no bulb to buy. Drawing 10.4 W, the fitting delivers 239 lm at 2700 K, a warm, slightly yellowish white. An old 60 W bulb gave about 800 lm, so this is light for marking the way after dark rather than for lighting a large area. The milky diffuser spreads the light, and the manufacturer states ULOR 50%: half of the output goes upwards. The fitting is phase-dimmable with either a trailing-edge or a leading-edge dimmer, so it works with both types found in home installations. The manufacturer rates the module at over 70,000 h (L80B50). Mounting and wiring The bollard is bolted down through three ø9 mm holes set 120° apart on a 65 mm circle. Nothing for fixing it into the ground is included. The manufacturer sells a ground anchor (206), a concreting anchor (205), a concrete foundation adapter (206S) and a mounting adapter (3080GA) separately. It is a protection class I luminaire, so it needs an earth conductor. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow fittings to be looped through, and the gland accepts a round cable up to 12.5 mm in diameter. The manufacturer's datasheet states how many of these fittings one circuit breaker can carry: B 10 A – 46, B 16 A – 75, C 10 A – 74, C 16 A – 120. Those figures let you plan a longer row of bollards along a path on a single circuit. Where it fits IP65 means the bollard can stay outdoors without any cover, and IK10 is the highest common impact rating, up to 20 J. It suits a garden, a terrace, a driveway and the street side of a property. The plain, angular ribbed form matches Scandinavian and modern design.
