SITGES is a spot wall light in matt white built from two parts: a round base 10.5 cm across that screws to the wall, and a tilting head 5.7 cm across holding a GU10 lamp. The head is adjusted in the vertical plane after installation, so the direction of light is chosen on site rather than at the chasing stage. A switch on the body – a small thing that changes the use There is a rocker switch on the side of the base. It looks like a detail, but it decides where this fitting makes sense: beside a bed, beside an armchair, beside a desk. A wall light with no switch of its own has to be wired to a wall switch, which means planning a circuit; this one can be wired permanently and turned off by hand from wherever you are sitting or lying. Together with the tilting head that makes a classic reading light, aimed at the book rather than at the whole room. GU10 – the choice is yours The GU10 lampholder takes a lamp of up to 10 W – generous by modern LED standards, since a 10 W GU10 LED delivers around 800–900 lumens. No lamp is supplied, which here is an advantage rather than an omission: you choose the colour (2700 K for a bedroom, 4000 K above a desk), the beam angle (a narrow 24° for reading, a wide 60° to lift a corner) and whether the lamp should be dimmable. Changing it takes a moment, without taking the fitting off the wall. Construction Everything is aluminium in a matt white finish. The aluminium has a practical job here – with a 10 W GU10 lamp it pulls heat away from the holder, which directly affects how long that lamp lasts. Matt white does not throw point reflections from neighbouring lights and does not show fingerprints when the head is repositioned. A net weight of 1 kg is substantial at this size – the fitting is no thin-walled shell. Where it works IP20 confines SITGES to dry interiors. Its natural places are the wall above a bed, a reading corner, a hallway and a corridor – anywhere a single directed light with its own switch is wanted rather than general lighting.
