CYPRES is an outdoor wall light by Lutec with two adjustable heads — one throwing light up, the other down. The heavy-duty aluminium housing in dark grey measures 17.3 × 10.7 × 8.8 cm and is rated IP44. The heads aim — and that is the whole point of this fitting Both tubes rotate independently, so the angle at which the light meets the wall is your choice. Set vertical, they give the classic pair of triangles spreading up and down; angled out, wider and softer patches, or light aimed at a path rather than at the façade. The same fitting can therefore be an architectural accent by a door or practical lighting for a walkway. The CYPRES family also includes one- and four-head variants (6604001118, 6604002118, 6604004118). No lamps included — and that changes the purchase The manufacturer describes CYPRES as suitable for GU10 retrofit spots, which it does not supply. That matters twice over. First, two lamps have to be added to the bill. Second — and this is the part that is easy to forget — light colour, output and beam angle are not properties of this fitting but of the lamp you choose. A warm 2700 K will warm the façade, 4000 K will sharpen detail; a narrow spot draws a crisp triangle, a wide one washes the wall. The power ceiling: 7 W per head Each holder takes a source up to 7 W, giving 14 W for the whole fitting. That limit comes from heat dissipation inside a sealed housing, not from brightness — a modern 7 W GU10 spot gives around 600 lumens, so two of them will light a stretch of façade comfortably. The fitting dims, provided dimmable lamps and a dimmer in the circuit are used. IP44 and the temperature range — what that means outdoors IP44 means protection against solid objects above 1 mm and against splashing water from any direction. In practice: rain and snow are no problem, but this is not a fitting for a direct hose jet, nor for mounting just above ground where water bounces back. The manufacturer quotes an operating range of −20 to +50 °C, which covers a full year in a Central European climate. Protection class I requires an earth conductor. Materials and durability The housing is heavy-duty aluminium and the diffusers are clear glass — clear, not opal, so the source stays visible and the beam stays crisp. Aluminium does not rust and carries heat away from the holders, which extends lamp life. The whole fitting weighs 0.696 kg. Lutec backs it with a 5-year warranty, clearly above the market standard for an outdoor light.
