About TRACE TR-50MS GC Columns Thermo Scientific™ TRACE TR-50MS GC Columns are mid-polarity columns well-suited to GC/MS applications. These columns feature a mid-polarity phase composed of 50% phenyl polysilphenylene-siloxane, which ensures low bleed and decreases MS contamination. They are particularly useful for applications requiring higher temperature and more polarity than a 5% phenyl column. The column's inertness results in minimal peak tailing and decreased breakdown of sensitive samples.
