Application: Isolation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in non-sterile pharmaceutical products Packaging: 90 mm settle plate with 30 ml filling volume (20 or 120 plates per box) for long incubation (LI) Synonym: Pseudomonas Selective Agar Cetrimide agar is suitable for the selective isolation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The use of cetrimide (cetyltrimethylammonium bromide) largely inhibits the growth of the accompanying microflora. A concentration of 0.3 g/L cetrimide satisfactorily inhibits the growth of accompanying organisms and minimizes interference with the growth of P. aeruginosa. Pigment production by P. aeruginosa is not inhibited when grown on this medium. P. aeruginosa can produce various pigments in different combinations. More than 90% of all strains produce bluish, non-fluorescent pyocyanin and yellowish, fluorescent pyoverdine (fluorescein).
