GFA1410N is a miniature recessed downlight with a visible diameter of just 3.5 cm — a ring smaller than a coin, through which 950 lumens emerge. Everything else hides in the ceiling: the body is 9 cm deep and slides into a 31 mm aperture. This is a solution for interiors where the lighting is meant to be present but not visible. A small hole, a lot of light A typical downlight needs a 70–75 mm aperture and leaves a distinct ring several centimetres across on the ceiling. Here the aperture is 31 mm and the visible element 35 mm — from a few metres away the fitting reads as a point, not as equipment. At 10 W and 950 lumens it nevertheless gives as much light as far larger fittings. The price of that discretion is the recess depth: 9 cm is more than an average downlight needs, so check the void above the board before buying. Light quality 4000 K is neutral white, and the colour rendering index exceeds 90 — a rare figure in fittings this small and clearly above the usual threshold of 80. The practical difference shows wherever colour matters: on timber, fabrics, pictures, food and skin tones. A 36° beam creates a defined, concentrated cone — this is a fitting for accenting and lighting specific places, not for filling a whole room evenly. Rated life is 30,000 hours. That matters when planning: the void above the ceiling board has to accommodate not only the 9 cm body but also a separate driver enclosure and access to it. In exchange the body itself can be this slim — all the electronics have been moved outside it. Protection class II means double insulation and no need to connect a PE earth conductor. Where it works A row of these lights shelves, alcoves, pictures, worktops and display cases — anywhere the light matters and the fitting should not. The high CRI makes it a good choice for merchandise display and for interiors with timber and natural materials. The IP20 rating restricts installation to dry rooms.
