Chatsworth is a tapered fabric shade in ivory. The outer material is 100% silk, laid in box pleats and finished with hand-stitched double pinch pleats; the edges are taped in the same silk. Inside sits a cream polyester lining. Dimensions and how it mounts The shade measures 25.5 cm across the bottom, 11.5 cm across the top and 16.5 cm high. These are the figures to check against the base you already own: with this shape the bottom edge sets the width of the whole lamp. A fixed gimbal sits inside the shade, 13 cm below its top edge. The lampholder on the base has to reach that depth for the shade to sit level. The manufacturer states plainly that this shade is not suitable for use with pendants. The bulb it takes Endon specifies a GLS bulb of up to 60 W with an E27 screw cap or a B22 bayonet cap. The bulb is not supplied, and neither are a base, a lampholder or a flex — what is sold here is the shade alone, for a lamp you already have or buy separately. The fabric is opaque, so light leaves through the top and bottom openings of the shade rather than through its walls. The cream lining covers the frame from the inside and is what you see from below once the lamp is on. The top opening is 11.5 cm and the bottom one 25.5 cm, so most of the light goes downwards — onto the surface under the lamp rather than onto the ceiling.Show more
