The SLV 145604 longitudinal connector joins two lengths of EUTRAC 3-phase track in a straight line. Silver-grey, 10 cm long, with an M13 internal thread. Two functions in one part The first is obvious: extending the track. EUTRAC is sold in lengths; this connector butts them together and maintains continuity of all three phases and the earth conductor, so fittings on either side of the joint behave identically and can still be switched between phases. The second is what sets this model apart from a plain joiner: the M13 internal thread lets you hang something below the track. A wire suspension or a pendant luminaire's suspension screws into it – so the point where two lengths meet also becomes a hanging point, with no extra fixing into the ceiling. Where that matters In retail displays and hospitality, track over a counter or a table usually does two jobs at once: directional spotlights and pendant lights. Without a threaded connector a pendant needs its own ceiling point and its own supply. Here it hangs from the track, at a position the track had to have anyway. The part is mechanical and structural – no electronics, no protective devices. Its job is a rigid, secure join between profiles and the transfer of load from the thread into the track structure.
