MIXIT Pro is a recessed GU10 downlight, 8.5 cm across and 7.2 cm deep, in white. What sets it apart is that it may be installed directly in thermal insulation. Mounting in insulation – why it matters Most recessed fittings need clear space around them: mineral wool or polystyrene pressed against the housing means the heat has nowhere to go. In practice that forces you to cut the insulation away above every light point – in a loft ceiling or a soffit, a hole in the thermal layer. MIXIT Pro is approved by the manufacturer for installation directly in insulation – no cut-outs, no shielding, no clearance from the wool. When insulating a loft or a canopy, that is the difference between a continuous insulation layer and a row of holes. 30° tilt The fitting tilts through 30°. That turns an ordinary light point into a spotlight: the beam can be aimed at a wall, a picture, a façade under the eaves – instead of only lighting what sits directly below. Installed in a roof soffit, the tilt lets you push the pool of light away from the house wall and onto the terrace without moving the drilling position. Indoors and out IP23 covers protection against solid objects over 12.5 mm and against rain falling at up to 60°. That is enough under a roof – in soffits, on a porch, in a passageway – but not on a fully exposed surface, where water falls vertically and drives in from the side. The manufacturer does not rate it for seaside locations – salt-laden air exceeds the intended durability of the finish. Parallel connection and a connector block included MIXIT Pro allows parallel connection, i.e. several fittings chained on one circuit – across a row of points in a soffit that saves a good deal of cable and boxes. A connector block is included, so no separate connector needs buying. Lamp: GU10, up to 8 W, bought separately The fitting does not include a lamp. It takes GU10 lamps up to 8 W, which with today's LEDs means freedom over colour and output – and the option to change later without changing the fitting. Dimming is possible but depends entirely on the lamp: there is no control gear in the fitting, so a dimmable lamp and a compatible dimmer are needed.
