The Wheel‑Type Tubing Cutter is designed for controlled cutting of stainless steel tubing used in chromatography systems. Unlike polymer tubing, stainless steel tubing requires a different cutting approach to avoid collapsing the internal diameter, which can negatively impact system performance. This cutter uses a scoring method, where the cutting wheel gradually scores the tubing circumference rather than cutting completely through. Once properly scored, the tubing is cleanly snapped, preserving the internal bore and maintaining flow integrity. This tool is suitable for tubing with outer diameters ranging from 1/32" (0.8 mm) to 1/4" (6.4 mm) and features a precision cutting wheel (0.36 mm thickness) for controlled scoring. While this cutter produces a usable cut for general or non‑critical applications, it is not recommended for critical HPLC connections, where perfect perpendicularity and zero deformation are required.
