BELLA is an eight-arm chandelier in gilded metal, 50 cm across, hung on a 102.6 cm chain. It belongs to Maytoni's Royal Classic collection – a line kept in a classical idiom, with no permanently built-in LED elements. Eight E14 candles Eight E14 sockets rated to 60 W each is an arrangement from the era of incandescent chandeliers, and it is exactly what gives this fitting its character: the light comes from eight separate points set around a circle, not from one module. The result is a soft, multiple shadow – the same one a candelabrum produces – instead of a single hard cast. Lamps are not supplied, and here that is a decision about appearance rather than just about numbers. A chandelier of this form looks best with E14 candle lamps in a clear envelope, filament ones for preference; frosted globes will work but flatten the effect. Eight 5–7 W E14 LEDs come to roughly 4000–5600 lumens at 40–56 W – the output of a living room's main lighting at a tenth of the running cost of eight sixty-watt bulbs. The chandelier weighs 6.22 kg net and hangs from a chain, so it loads a single point. A concrete slab takes a solid hook with an anchor; in a suspended plasterboard ceiling it must not be fixed to the board itself – you have to catch the supporting structure or set a separate hook in the slab above. The fitting is protection class I, so it needs an earth conductor – worth checking before buying on older two-core wiring. The fitting itself is not dimmable; brightness control is possible only through dimmable E14 lamps combined with a dimmer in the installation. IP20 confines it to dry interiors.
