IS 3360 DALI-2 APC is an infrared presence and motion detector in the concealed, round version – a white 12.4 cm rosette in the ceiling, driving luminaires over a DALI line. Reach that replaces several detectors This model exists for spaces where an ordinary detector cannot cope: tangential reach is Ø 40 m, i.e. 1,257 m² from a single point, and the nominal radius for movement across the field of view is 20 m. For movement straight towards the unit (radial) the reach is Ø 8 m, and presence detection – the small movements of someone sitting still – covers Ø 3 m. Those three figures have to be read together: a hall may be covered by one device, but a desk where someone works motionless has to fall inside the smallest of the circles. Mounting up to 4 metres Permitted mounting height is 2.50–4.00 m, with the manufacturer naming 2.8 m as optimum. That range takes in stairwells, corridors, production halls, warehouses, and underground or multi-storey car parks. The detector goes into a flush box in the ceiling with concealed wiring – all that stays visible is the 7.8 cm-high white rosette (RAL 9003). DALI broadcast – what it means in practice The control output works in broadcast mode and drives up to 30 electronic ballasts. Broadcast means every luminaire on the circuit receives the same command: the detector cannot be addressed from an external DALI controller, and the luminaires cannot be split into groups. If the installation needs addressing, the addressable "DALI-2" family is the right one, not this. In exchange this variant is self-contained: no controller and no system commissioning. Light control, not just on/off Constant-lighting control trims the luminaires against available daylight instead of simply switching them on. The basic light level function leaves a dimmed level behind after the room empties – for 1–30 minutes or all night – which matters for how safe a stairwell or car park feels. The main light is adjustable over 50–100%. Twilight setting: 2–1,000 lx with a TEACH function that learns the current level; time setting: 5 s – 15 min. Precision in the field of view Detection angle is a full 360° with a 180° angle of aperture, and the lens divides the area into 1,416 switching zones. Individual segments can be masked out so the detector ignores movement behind glazing or at a neighbouring workstation. A sneak-by guard closes the zone directly beneath the unit, where ordinary lenses leave a blind spot. Several detectors interconnect by cable in a master/slave arrangement. Settings and operating conditions Parameters are set with potentiometers or the Smart Remote (a separate accessory, EAN 4007841009151, not supplied). Supply 220–240 V, 50–60 Hz.
