A glass egg with a metal mesh inside Asher II is a double-shade fitting. The outer shade is clear glass in an oval form; the inner one is a cylinder of perforated metal wrapped around the lamp. That arrangement does all the work: the mesh breaks the output into hundreds of small points and the glass lets you see them from outside, so walls and ceiling get a fine, pierced pattern of light instead of one bright patch. Switched off, it reads as a clear piece of industrial detail — the mechanism visible behind glass. Size and drop range The shade is 21.6 cm across and the fitting 29.8 cm tall. The decisive figure, though, is the drop: adjustable from 33.6 to 307.9 cm — the cord is 289.6 cm long and gets shortened at installation. That range means the same fitting suits a low kitchen ceiling and a mezzanine over three metres high. Singly or in a row At a little over 20 cm across, Asher is an intimate fitting. Over a kitchen island or a bar it naturally falls into a row of two or three; over a small table, beside an armchair or in a hallway, one is enough. The manufacturer aims it at kitchens, dining rooms and kitchen islands. Light source — and why a clear one An E27 socket, 60 W maximum, supply 220–240 V / 50 Hz. No bulb is included. With clear glass and a pierced mesh, the choice of lamp changes how the fitting looks more than usual: a clear A60 brings out the shadow play of the perforation, while a frosted bulb flattens the effect and blurs the mesh pattern. The manufacturer recommends a clear A60 of about 8 W, 800 lm and 3000 K for this fitting. The fitting itself is compatible with dimmable lamps — so dimming depends on the lamp and the dimmer you choose, not on the fitting.
