The Oh My Gee candle holder in size L is a glass cylinder slipped into a burgundy velvet jacket finished at the top with a dense row of fringing. The jacket covers the lower part of the glass and leaves the upper part clear, so the flame stays fully visible. How big it is and how much room it takes The manufacturer gives the dimensions as 10 × 10 × 13 cm — a round base roughly 10 cm across and 13 cm of total height including the fringe. Set that against the diameter of the candle you usually buy: a pillar candle narrower than the inside of the glass sits properly in it, while a tealight disappears at the bottom. L is one of several sizes in the Oh My Gee collection, so a few heights of the same jacket can be grouped together — on a table, a windowsill or a shelf. What it is made of The jacket is sewn from velvet and its top edge is finished with a row of long fringes — they give the uneven, soft outline that makes the holder look different from every side. The insert is plain, clear glass. Bazar Bizar makes this series by hand in India, so the weave and the length of the fringe vary slightly between pieces. The manufacturer calls the colour burgundy: a deep, dark red with a brown cast. Looking after it The jacket is hand washed in cold water — warmer water shrinks the fabric and damages the fibres. The material has to dry completely before the holder is used again, because velvet holding moisture against warm glass loses its shape.
