Artificial Pilea Plant 37 cm
Pilea is an artificial house plant from Green Designers standing 37 cm in total height, with leaves made of fabric. It arrives in a plain black grower pot 12 cm across and 10 cm deep. Textile leaves, not moulded plastic The difference shows up close. Textile leaves have a matt surface and soft edges and veining — they settle under their own weight instead of standing stiffly out, as cast plastic tends to. That matters particularly on a Pilea, whose round leaf blades curve gently in life; a rigid imitation gives the game away immediately. Trailing habit — where to stand it The stems on this Pilea clearly fall away past the rim of the pot, so the plant reads best where it has something to spill over: the edge of a shelf, the top of a cabinet, a windowsill, or a hanging cachepot. Set in the middle of a table it loses half the effect, because the stems simply rest on the surface. Decorative pot bought separately The plant comes in a technical grower pot — a smooth black container with no decorative pretension, there to hold the plant in transit. You will need a cachepot with an internal diameter of at least 12 cm for display. Worth allowing for, both in budget and in the look of the finished arrangement. The stated 37 cm includes the grower pot, so dropped into a taller cachepot the visible part of the plant will be correspondingly shorter. No care at all The plant needs no watering, no feeding and no light, which makes it the answer for places where a living plant simply will not survive: dark corridors, windowless interiors, offices shut up over the holidays, shop windows. The manufacturer states the product is non-toxic and safe around children and pets. Intended use: indoors — this is not the UV-stabilised version made for outdoor settings.
