The Coliform Vial Detection System for Soleris® consists of a peptone-yeast extract base with lactose serving as the carbon source. The selective agents are bile salts, sodium lauryl sulfate, and other Gram-positive inhibitors. The pH value changes as a result of the acidification of the medium caused by the lactose. Bromcresol purple (BCP) is used as the pH indicator. As acid is produced through the metabolic activity of coliform bacteria, the color of the BCP changes from violet to yellow.Zobraziť viac
