The Staphylococcus tube (pH: 7.0 to 7.4) contains aniline blue as a color indicator. If Staphylococcus spp.—specifically *S. aureus*—is present in the test sample, the mannitol in the broth is fermented into acid, resulting in a color change from light blue to dark blue.Show more
