An abaca-fibre wall light in size S — 20 cm high, 35 cm wide and 17 cm deep. Each piece is woven by hand from the natural fibres of the abaca plant, and the light passes between the individual strands, throwing an irregular, shadowed pattern onto the wall. Light filtered through grass The whole effect of this fitting comes from the material. Abaca fibres do not form a solid shade — they lie loosely, so part of the light passes straight through, part bounces off the wall, and distinct shadows appear between the strands. Lit after dark it gives a warm, dappled glow rather than an even beam. This is a mood fitting: it will not light a room, but it will give the room a point the eye settles on.
